How it works

From your photo to your door, in five steps. You see the exact print before you pay, and nothing prints until you approve it.

1. Upload your design

Start from a template or a blank mug. Add as many photos or logos as you like, from your computer or straight from your phone, and your words, on the front, the back, both or all the way around. Choose from 13 fonts, any text color and 13 rim & handle colors. Free self-serve tools in the studio remove a photo’s background or turn it into a sketch, cartoon, pop art or watercolor. Or our team removes the background for you, for $5.99. JPG or PNG photos work best; the bigger the photo, the sharper the mug.

One mug, front and back: a family photo and “Merry Christmas” on the front, “We love you, Grandma! Emma & Mateo · Christmas 2026” on the back; the back is +$2.99

2. Preview it on a mug

Turn the mug to see both sides. Before you pay, the review step shows the exact print file we print from, so what you see is what we print. The studio also tells you if a photo will look blurry, if part of your design goes past the print area, if text is too small to read, if a side is empty, or if sample text is still on the mug.

3. Approve and pay

When you approve your design, we save that exact version with your order. Your cart shows every choice, and checkout shows shipping and any sales tax before you pay.

4. We check it and make it in our next batch

Our team looks at every design before it prints, free, and emails you if anything looks off. We print in three big batches a day, so your mug goes into the next one. Orders placed after the last batch of the day, or on a day we don’t produce, go into the next batch.

5. Shipped, then on its way

Order by 1:30 PM Mountain time on a weekday and it ships the same day: made and shipped in about 3 hours on average. “Shipped” means handed to the carrier; the carrier’s transit time comes after that and depends on the service you choose at checkout.

When does the clock start?

When you place your order with your approved preview. If we ever send you a revised proof (for example after photo cleanup you asked for), the clock restarts when you approve it.
